I'm a guest blogger for Smithsonian Folkways!

So I'm really excited about this! This year, I'm a guest blogger for one of my favorite record labels in the whole wide world, Smithsonian Folkways. They are working with UNESCO to release a collection of amazing music from all around the world, and I'm writing about some of it! This week, I wrote about music from the African countries of Algeria and Benin. The recordings are incredible and definitely worth checking out, and if you aren't familiar with the work of Smithsonian Folkways, now is the time!

  • Earlier this year I sat on a panel with Philip Glass. Below is a photo proving it happened. :)
