Oh yeah, feeling it. Let's run over the news items for this week real quick.
Lincoln Calling: A wonderful fest in Lincoln, Nebraska that amazingly is having me back again this year. I'll be playing on Thursday night with Gloom Balloon, Universe Contest, and more at Duffy's, legendary home of the fish bowl. Details here.
I had the wonderful opportunity to help work on an event put on by the Des Moines Music Coalition called Music University. Matisyahu beat boxed and talked about art, Dum Dum Girls and Bob Mould rocked out and led songwriting workshops, Jeff Eaton of Modern Life Is War was basically just really cool and nice and awesome. My buds Adam Hill of Ardent Studios (who engineered and mixed my album), Alyssa DeHayes of Riot Act Media (who made people pay attention to the Gloom Balloon debut album which I play on and co-produced), Joe Vent of A to Z Media (who makes sure all that Maximum Ames Records vinyl turns out right), and Nate Cook and Sam Vicari (who are rad music dudes from Chicago and loan me jackets and let me sleep on their floors) all came to town and hung out and it was the best!
I recorded a song by Tom Waits a while back. You can listen to it whenever you want on my website now. Check it out right here.
I just added more shows for the USA going into November. USA! USA! We'll confirm the rest of our Italy dates soon and post those here, too. All shows and links and jazz right here, forever and ever.
And I'm still cranking out custom shirts on my back porch and sometimes in my basement when I need the fumes. Here's a few more I made recently.
Come get one at a show or order right here.
Lastly... my new studio album: I'm mastering it this week in Omaha. Fuck yes.
